What I actually do
College stuff
-
Select major choices that actually excite you and align with your life goals
-
Build a college list that makes sense for you (not your friend, not your momâs coworkerâs kid)
-
Tell you what matters, what doesnât, and whatâs a waste of time
-
Help with activities, resumes, brag sheets, and what to do each year (so youâre not panicking come senior year)
-
Essay brainstorming + editing that still sounds like you, not a robot in khakis
Test Prep (SAT/ACT)
-
Strategy + practice thatâs way more work smarter than suffer longer
-
Learn how to actually use the tools (Bluebook, Desmos, timing, patterns, shortcuts)
-
Understand why you missed questions so you stop repeating the same mistakes and your score actually improves
-
Get simple, memorable ways to lock in content without feeling overwhelmed
-
Use sessions to truly learn (not just grind) so youâre not wasting time you could be spending on activities... or, letâs be real, sleeping
What it's like to work with me
- I'm direct and honest, but never mean. I won't just tell you what you want to hear; I'll tell you the truth.
- I am naturally bubbly, so I keep things as fun and light as possible without being annoying or over-the-top. Students tell me I give a big-sister vibe.
- Sessions are productive⊠but not miserable. I keep it moving.
- I keep things organized and on track so you can focus on school and other priorities.
- I loathe busywork - both for myself and for you - so everything we do will have a purpose and move you toward your goals.
- I'm pro independence, so I'll do my best to keep your parents off your back regarding what we're working on.

Working with Bonnie felt like learning from someone whoâs both incredibly smart and genuinely fun. She always brought humor into sessions, but I was constantly learning and improving. I just did what she told me to do, and it worked! I earned a 33 on the ACT (top 2% of test takers), even with dyslexia.
She also helped me navigate the college application process for recruited athletes and supported me with every aspect of applying to college. Working with Bonnie was one of the best decisions I made. I was accepted to my first-choice college [Chapman].Â

Bonnie started as my ACT tutor, but she was so helpful that I also worked with her for college counseling. She taught me exactly what actually shows up on the ACT, which helped me raise my score to a 35. She always knew why I missed questions and how to fix it.
For college counseling, she gave me all the information I needed so I felt confident and never overwhelmed. Applications felt totally manageable, and Bonnie's constant guidance, encouragement, and belief in me made a huge difference.

Working with Bonnie for SAT prep and college applications gave me confidence at every step. With her support, I scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT, way higher than I expected.
The college app process with Bonnie was straightforward and easy to follow. I was accepted to my first-choice school, Wesleyan! Her mentorship went beyond applications and made a real impact on how I see myself as a student. I now plan to attend med school!
Some questions you may have
Have a question I didn't answer? Feel free to hmu using the button below, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Do I have to do both test prep and college counseling?
My school already has a college counselor. Why would I work with you?
What if Iâve already done test prep somewhere else and it didnât really help?
Have you helped students get into Ivy League schools like Harvard?
Can you help me get a perfect SAT or ACT score?
What grade should I start working with you? What if Iâm in middle school or already a senior?
Do you only work with perfect students?
Do I need some huge trauma story for my essay?
What if I don't live in Texas or even the US for that matter?
Sounds awesome, but how do I get my parents on board?
*Quick note: Because most students are minors, a parent or guardian must be involved for us to proceed. Theyâll handle agreements and payment in most cases, so we'll loop them in when the time is right.*
